Hekla's Betrayal and Death
Overview​
The central dramatic confrontation of Book 3's Floor 4 arc. Hekla was revealed to have secretly been shooting Katia Grim with invisible phased bolts over a prolonged period. Katia killed Hekla accidentally when intercepting her escape, leveling from 24 to 37 from the kill.

What Happened​
Hekla had spent a prolonged period firing invisible phased bolts at Katia — keeping the attacks subtle enough to appear as random dungeon damage. Her plan was to use Katia as bait, drawing enemy attention toward Katia's party while protecting Brynhild's Daughters.
Donut discovered the truth using her Prism Goggles, which allowed her to see through Hekla's phase concealment and identify the bolt origin. When confronted, Hekla fled and activated a phase cloak.
Katia activated her Rush ability (Monster Truck Driver) to intercept. The phase cloak made Hekla incorporeal — but Rush still registered her as a collision target. Katia struck Hekla at full charge impact and Hekla died from the collision. The kill was accidental.
