Gate of Feral Gods Activation: Strike on the Ninth Floor
Overview​
Carl activated the Gate of the Feral Gods in the final hours of Floor 5, opening a portal to the ninth floor's Faction Wars battlefield and summoning a feral god to destroy the faction castle — disrupting the faction war economy and costing rival sponsors enormous sums. Seven lawsuits were filed against Carl; all failed.

What Happened​
Carl's plan: use the Gate of the Feral Gods — a winding box and two watches collected across Floor 5 — to open a portal to the ninth floor's Faction Wars battlefield. Leaving the first watch in the box sent through the portal while keeping the second watch on the opening side causes a feral god to appear on both sides of the portal.
Juice Box agreed to carry the winding box through the portal in exchange for Carl's promise to attempt to bring her people — the Changelings — down each floor with them. This allowed changeling children to escape through the gate to Floor 6.
Carl placed the winding box on top of a sand dune near the stairwell with five hours and 30 minutes until level collapse. The gate was set to open in approximately five hours.
Seven of the nine Faction Wars factions filed lawsuits to stop the plan. All seven failed due to a stock ownership technicality. The Borant politburo sent Carl a message approving the plan (as it cost rival sponsors money). Carl received seven "Fight the Power" achievements for the successful lawsuit defenses.
Separately, a feral demon (without a neck, with bat wings and a lightning whip) appeared looking for Samantha/Psamathe just as the gate activation occurred. Carl released Samantha to fight the demon.
The sponsor Open Intellect Pacifist Action Network sent Carl an Emergency Platinum Benefactor Box just before the gate opened, containing a curved wicker basket attachment for his xistera.
