Li Jun

Overview

Li Jun is a human Street Monk crawler who joined Carl's party on Floor 4 after being rescued from Station 101. He became the de facto train driver for the evacuation run on the Iron Tangle. His sister is Li Na and his best friend is Zhang. On Floor 6, he was secretly turned into a vampire — known only to Li Na and Zhang — and was later cured when Carl killed Miriam Dom using the Ring of Divine Suffering.

First Appearance

Book 1, Chapters 42–43 (Maestro's show); Book 3, Chapter 24 (joins Carl's group)

Description

  • Race: Human (no transformation)
  • Class: Street Monk
  • Deep acne scars on cheeks that did not disappear with the dungeon transformation
  • Acrobatic hand-to-hand fighter
  • Can cast a red-glowing-fist buff that dramatically increases punch damage
  • Immune to acid attacks (prioritized after a Floor 2 incident with a Brindle Grub)

Role in the Story So Far

Li Jun first appeared on the Maestro's "Death Watch" game show on Floor 2 alongside Zhang. Both were Level 7 warehouse coworkers. On Floor 4, after being rescued from Station 101, he quickly learned to drive the Vermillion line train and became the team's go-to driver for the evacuation operation. His sister Li Na and best friend Zhang accompanied him.

On Floor 6, Li Jun was turned into a vampire at some point before Chapter 50. He chose to keep the transformation secret from the group, confiding only in Li Na and Zhang. Katia discovered the secret later and was angry that he hadn't said anything. When Carl killed Miriam Dom using the Ring of Divine Suffering, the vampiric curse was broken — Li Jun was cured. The Ring kills the vampire who cast the original curse and undoes all transformations tied to it.
