Floor 5 uses three boss tiers: neighborhood bosses, city bosses, and borough bosses. Borough bosses are the highest tier encountered and guard quadrant castle interiors.

Denise the Feral Goose Mother​

A feral goose originating from the seventh floor, rendered insane after lingering too long in "the Nothing" during Emperor Anser's gate transport. Magic-suppression environmental boss — no spells or standard weapons function in her presence. Fires rows of razor-sharp teeth as a shotgun blast. Defeated by Carl using the kitchen garbage disposal (Chapter 16).
Mechanical Boss Bird​
Type: Neighborhood Boss (air quadrant)
Chapter: Referenced in Chapter 20
A mechanical flying bird boss encountered by Katia's team prior to Chapter 20. Notable for dropping the "dangle saw" weapon looted by Katia. Destroyed before the Chapter 20 events.

Mrs. Ghazi (Sand Ooze)​
Level 52 Borough Boss. See individual page.
A Sand Ooze that guards Ghazi the Mad Dune Mage's basement workshop. A minion of Samantha (Psamathe). Hunts by vibration and sound; has a glowing core under the recliner that must be burned with white-hot fire. Defeated by Carl hanging upside-down with burn gel (Chapter 22).
Water Quadrant Bosses​
Lusca (Octo-Shark Brood Mother Queen)​
Level 82 City Boss.
Chapter: 26–27
Defeated by Carl's team. Her defeat cleared the snake mob type from the water's edge of the bubble.
Notable Achievement​
- Flex in the City — awarded to Carl's team for killing a city boss with five or fewer crawlers (Chapter 28).
