Agatha

Overview​

Agatha is an elderly woman who navigates the dungeon pushing a shopping cart. Eccentric and cackling, she nonetheless demonstrates knowledge and awareness that go well beyond her apparent state. She is one of the dungeon's stranger presences.

Description​

An elderly woman with two bulbous eyes, dressed in layers. Pushes a well-worn shopping cart containing numerous items — including a pink plastic flamingo in the front.

Known Facts​

  • Arrived in the dungeon on the night of the Transformation. She had set fire to an eldercare facility she was camped outside, forcing hundreds of elderly residents out into the street — which incidentally saved them when the dungeon opened there.
  • The dungeon stairs transformed into a ramp when she approached with her cart, as if the dungeon AI was accommodating her specifically.
  • She entered voluntarily, first, cackling and shouting she'd saved everyone's lives.
  • Had not completed the dungeon tutorial as of the Floor 1 boss fight and had no inventory — her shopping cart could not be stored.
  • Reached Level 4 after the Floor 1 boss fight simply by being in the room, despite doing almost nothing. Her progression remained at Level 4 through all of Floor 1 and into Floor 2.
  • Was edited out of the boss battle episode broadcast. Mordecai deflected Carl's question about why: "They probably didn't want to confuse the narrative." Carl sensed there was more to it.
  • Confirmed to have killed at least one mob on Floor 2 independently — a Level 2 Brindle Grub.
  • Her shopping cart was found to contain three Valtay Corporation items: a Trans Tunnel 7C Orator Relay (inter-tunnel communications device, flagged illegal by the dungeon AI), a Valtay Perso-Shield Platinum Edition, and a Mag 3040 Valtay Corp Pulse Pistol.
  • When Carl referenced her shopping cart, she gave him a sharp warning look suggesting awareness and intelligence well beyond her apparent state.

Status​

Agatha's true nature and affiliation are ambiguous. The dungeon AI flagged her communication device as illegal. Her connection, if any, to the Valtay Corporation is unresolved.
