Rage Elemental

Overview

The Rage Elemental is a Level 93 wandering boss encountered on Floor 2 near the stairwell to Floor 3. It is nearly indestructible, self-healing, and nearly impossible to outrun. See the full encounter at Rage Elemental Encounter.

System Description

The first recorded summoning of a Rage Elemental, blah, blah, blah. If you are reading this, you likely don't give a shit about the monster's (rather interesting and tragic) history. You're probably running. It's not going to matter. The almost-indestructible Rage Elemental is said to only dissipate after it has claimed 666 souls.

In other words, you are fucked. Absolutely, bite-the-pillow, fucked.

Description

An enormous entity that moves on six legs — four rear legs for locomotion and two enormous front arms with raking claws. A badger-like head. Impossibly fast. The sound of its movement was described as a locomotive bearing down at full speed. Its claws tear through stone. It is self-healing; a health bar appears for a split-second when hit and then disappears as the creature regenerates. Magic missiles bounce off it harmlessly.

The Rage Elemental can cast spells: it reversed gravity in the hallway during the encounter, flinging crawlers and furniture to the ceiling.

Key Abilities

  • Near-indestructible and self-healing
  • Reverse Gravity spell (area effect)
  • Physical attacks disintegrate targets instantly (Yolanda Martinez was killed this way)
  • Protective Shell bounced it away temporarily — the one thing that slowed it down

The 666 Souls

The system description states it only dissipates after claiming 666 souls. Its health bar was barely in the red after killing multiple crawlers and being hit repeatedly by Imani's chain and Carl's explosives. This was not enough to defeat it.

Outcome

Not killed. Carl and Donut escaped by sacrificing the Goblin Chopper (loaded with the MOAB) down the Floor 3 stairwell, allowing Donut to cast Puddle Jumper and teleport them to Mordecai's room. Several other crawlers (Yolanda Martinez, Randall) were killed by the elemental during the encounter.
