Loita

Overview​

Loita was a Kua-tin Borant administrator and member of the Bloom party who replaced Zev as Carl and Donut's primary PR agent at the end of Floor 4. She exercised strict control over their media access, censored interviews, and had Zev sent to a "reeducation retreat." She was killed during Floor 5.

Role in the Story So Far​

Loita first appeared as Hekla's outreach representative on Floor 4, where she attempted to claim rights to Carl, Donut, and Katia's account by arguing Katia had been a member of Brynhild's Daughters. At the end of Floor 4, she replaced Zev as the primary PR agent, having arranged Zev's removal via an apparent "reeducation retreat." She immediately began exercising control: eliminating between-interview food and drink (citing illegal buffs), censoring Odette's comments about "Chris," and restricting access. She and Odette had a complicated prior history involving Loita's grandmother.

During Floor 5, Loita was killed in Chapters 18–19 when a robot Donut toy's self-destruct mechanism was triggered by a shim Carl had placed under the back panel while she was in a submarine. The death was ruled an accident by Syndicate Liaison Orren following an investigation; Carl was never officially proven responsible. Following her death, Zev was reassigned to Carl's team as a temporary replacement.
