Juice Box

Overview​

Juice Box is a Changeling NPC who works as a prostitute in Hump Town on Floor 5 — a cover for her real role within the changeling community. Unusually self-aware for an NPC, she actively protects changeling children and cares for the orphaned gnome child Bonnie. She falls in love with the crawler Louis Santiago 2 and leads the changeling children through the gate to Floor 6 at the end of Book 4.

Role in the Story So Far​

Juice Box operates in Hump Town on Floor 5 as a central figure in the changeling community's survival network. She protects changeling children and took Bonnie into her care at the Hump Town orphanage after Bonnie's father Commandant Kane was killed. She made a deal with Carl to bring the changeling children through the gate to Floor 6 in exchange for safe passage. By the end of Book 4 she and Louis Santiago 2 had fallen in love; she led the changeling group through the gate to Floor 6, with Louis joining Katia's splinter team alongside her.

On Floor 9 (Book 7), Juice Box serves as Co-Warlord of Team Retribution — the NPC team and primary alliance partner of the Princess Posse during the Ceasefire and Ramp-Up phases. She has scars not present before. Her left ear initially fails to form when shapeshifting (takes ~10 seconds to appear, indicating prior injury). Her stated level is 35 in human form, but her true level is unknown.

Before the ceasefire, she had been poisoning the Shanty Town food market. She also planted a changeling spy — Sick-Ass Worgo — among the Princess Posse's sluggalo ranks; Justice Light eventually uncovers this.

At the end of chapter 86, Juice Box gives Louis Santiago divorce papers, ending their relationship.
