Overview

Huanxin Jinx is an alien from the Grixist Swarm and CEO of Icon Industries. She is the season sponsor of the deity Eileithyia, whom she drives during the Floor 8–9 crawl events. Described as a schemer on the scale of Circe Took and Vrah, she is driven by two parallel goals: winning the Ascendency throne game on Floor 12, and settling an ancient vendetta against Odette. By the end of Floor 9, she is killed by Donut's cat poop–based spell. Donut's offhand remark afterward implies she may have been Mordecai's mother.

Known Facts

• Alien from the Grixist Swarm. Six eyes. CEO of Icon Industries. Season sponsor of the deity Eileithyia, whom she drives on Floor 8.
• Described by Mordecai as "a plotter" — like Circe and Vrah, but on a different scale. Odette calls her "the most evil person I know" and says she is "out for revenge."
• Has a long, destructive history with Odette and Mordecai. In a previous dungeon season, Odette made an illegal deal with Huanxin (Huanxin would help Mordecai survive; Odette would pay). Odette broke the deal: trapped Huanxin's then-sponsored goddess Dodola in a containment and had her killed, costing Huanxin the Ascendency game. Mordecai survived but his brother Uzzi died. In the following dungeon season, Huanxin retaliated by killing Armita (Odette's associate) inside the dungeon — perfectly legal.
• On Floor 8, struck a bargain with Carl: if Carl repaired a shrine (resurrecting Yemaya as Eileithyia's Ascendency retainer) and Katia ate the orchid (solving the Crown of Sepsis Whore curse), Huanxin would protect Katia on the 12th floor. She used Eileithyia's quest chat interface to communicate with Carl covertly.
• Was trying to win the Ascendency throne game on Floor 12 at the time of her death.
• On Floor 9, Donut's Laundry Day spell stripped Huanxin out of Eileithyia's soul armor (the same mechanic used against Circe Took and Diwata), leaving her exposed. She was then killed by an arrow whose head was forged from Mordecai's mother's ashes — the same ashes kept in his guild chambers. The complicating detail: Donut had once accidentally pooped in those ashes. Her rueful remark afterward — "I feel really bad about pooping in Mordecai's mother's ashes now... she was really killed by a cat poop arrow" — strongly implies Huanxin was Mordecai's mother, though this is stated informally rather than confirmed explicitly.
