Samantha

Overview​

Samantha (true name: Psamathe) is a minor deity of lust currently trapped in the form of a love doll head. She lives in Carl's personal space and serves as hired staff.

Role in the Story So Far​

Samantha was tricked into possessing a sand ooze creature known as Mrs. Ghazi, which was devoted to her. When Mrs. Ghazi is destroyed during the land quadrant castle fight, Samantha is captured. Carl negotiates her employment as a trainer and staff member in his personal space.

At the climax of Floor 5, a feral demon — Samantha's mother Slit — arrives at the bubble looking for Samantha, announcing her presence with a lightning-crackling whip and an ear-splitting "Samantha!" Carl releases Samantha from the personal space to confront her mother. To protect Samantha from further pursuit, Carl uses his xistera (a wicker-basket launcher) to fling her approximately 50 kilometers away, buying time.

Donut renamed her from Psamathe to Samantha in the staff chat roster.

On Floor 9 (Book 7), Samantha is active with Carl's group. At the end of the floor (chapters 86–87), Carl launches her via xistera into Emberus's volcano as a distraction and intelligence mission. She gets badly burned — described as "a piece of popcorn shrimp stuck at the bottom of the oven for two years" — but survives.

When Donut saves the Kimaris stuffed animal card at the end of chapter 87, Samantha is shocked to recognize him: "He's one of my best friends... He's the one who gave me the potion that would put my baby in me." Some of her memories of Kimaris were blocked. She vows to kill his mother.

She is immediately and enthusiastically excited that Louis Santiago is "back on the market" after receiving his divorce papers from Juice Box.
