Circe Took

Type: Alien (deity sponsor) First Appearance: Book 4, Chapter 1 (as Diwata); Book 5, Chapter 74 (revealed as Circe Took)

Overview

Circe Took is an alien who purchased the season sponsorship for the deity Diwata — acquiring the right to drive her this crawl season. She chose to wear Diwata's appearance as soul armor, making her effectively immortal while the divine form was active. Her own body is a giant mantis woman. She is the progenitor of the mantis nymphs that flooded the Floor 6 cage fight.

Known Facts

  • Purchased the season sponsorship for the deity Diwata, which allowed her to drive Diwata and wear the deity's form as soul armor.
  • Her own form is a giant mantis woman. She was continuously giving birth to mantis nymphs throughout the Book 5 cage fight.
  • Defeated by Princess Donut's Laundry Day spell at level 15. The spell targeted Circe Took (the wearer of the soul armor), not Diwata herself. It stripped the deity's form from Circe Took, expelling Diwata intact back to the Halls of Ascendency and leaving Circe Took exposed.
  • Killed by her own mantis children, who turned on her the moment she was stripped of divine protection.
  • Died screaming Carl's name.
  • Diwata survived as a deity entity — she was expelled to the Halls of Ascendency, not destroyed.

The Laundry Day Mechanic

Laundry Day does not hurt gods — it targets the person wearing the soul armor. At level 15, it could remove armor from the wearer (Circe Took), leaving Diwata's divine form intact but without its driver. The deity form was then expelled back to the Halls of Ascendency. This distinction — alien sponsor vs. deity — is what made the spell effective.
