Overview

Diwata is an immortal mantis goddess — a deity entity in the dungeon system. This season she is sponsored by the alien Circe Took, who purchased the right to drive her and chose to wear Diwata's appearance as soul armor. When Diwata's divine form is active, her driver cannot be killed by conventional means.

After her sponsor Circe Took was killed on Floor 6, Diwata's form was expelled back to the Halls of Ascendency intact. As a deity, Diwata herself was not destroyed.

System Description

It's not only a deity, it's also the winner of the dungeon's worst mother and father of the year award! She can't be killed, but if you can manage to talk her into some sort of birth control, she'll be knocked out of the ring!

The Sponsorship Mechanic

Aliens can purchase the season sponsorship for a deity, granting them the right to drive that deity during the crawl. With that sponsorship the alien can:

• Wear the deity's appearance as their soul armor (making them effectively immortal while active)
• Or appear as their own form while still driving the deity

The deity is a separate entity from the alien sponsor — not the sponsor's "true form." When Donut's Laundry Day stripped Diwata's form from Circe Took, the spell targeted Circe Took as the wearer. Diwata was expelled intact back to the Halls of Ascendency; only the sponsor died.
