The Crest

Overview​

The Crest are a species of former dungeon crawlers who became free after their planet's dungeon ended. They chose not to reclaim their world and instead became space-faring people. By the time of Book 6, many Crest have bonded with the Princess Posse fan organization, pledging loyalty to Princess Donut.

  • The Crest are a former-crawler species — their home planet ran a dungeon similar to Earth's, which they survived.
  • They chose not to reclaim their planet after the dungeon ended and became nomadic/space-faring.
  • A large number of Crest members have sworn themselves to the Princess Posse, Donut's fan organization.
  • Approximately 50,000 Crest fighters were smuggled aboard the Homecoming Queen — a converted Long Haul Biological Waste Management Solutions garbage freighter — as allies for the upcoming Floor 9 Faction Wars.
  • The operation was organized by Tipid, a Crest former-crawler who commands the Homecoming Queen and is aware he will likely not survive it.
  • Tipid works alongside NPC allies Doctor Hu and Horatio in coordinating the ship.
  • The Crest's involvement is an illegal military operation; the dungeon AI appears to have helped enable it as a workaround to standard rules.
