The Madness

Overview​

The Madness is the Viceroy faction on Floor 9 and the central antagonist faction of the floor. It is led by Architect Houston — a masked figure in white robes wearing a white featureless mask with a red teardrop icon. Beneath the mask is an alien face: described as predator/goblin-like with no lips.

Houston's adjutant is a tiny floating creature called Opiee (a Bune).

Key Operative: Vinata​

The Madness's key operative was Vinata (the Sepsis Whore), a naga who served as the warlord face of the Blood Sultanate faction. Vinata was killed by Kandy Newton in chapter 55, after Vinata's temporary immortality expired.

Operation Ruin​

Carl's primary objective in Operation Ruin (chapter 59) was to find and kill Architect Houston. He entered Madness territory through the Gate of Feral Gods.
