Parade of Horribles
Overview
The Parade of Horribles was the central mechanic of Floor 11. Twenty-three crawlers had 90 minutes to build themed parade float processions, then marched 3 kilometers along a yellow-brick road lined with thousands of Horribles (masked avatars of dead Primals and NPCs from past dungeon seasons) before reaching the arena.
The parade is also the name of the second of the Nine-Tier Attacks in Primal mythology — a social and psychological event that precipitates mass panic and societal collapse across the galaxy.

What Happened
Grand Master Chaco opened the parade on Lamashtu the Donkey (a subjugated god, Level 125) but broke down mid-narration. The AI punished him by ripping off his wings. The AI then possessed the NPC Grigori the Placid (as an NPC, unlike Chaco) to narrate its cosmological history.
Grigori's Narration covered five parts:
- The Resolution: The Primals (a precursor civilization) resolved to stop destroying each other. Took hundreds of cycles.
- The Decision: They chose to sunset biological existence and merge consciousness into the Eulogist — a collective mind housed in an impenetrable structure. Required 100% participation; those who refused were hunted.
- The Betrayal: The Apothecary arose as resistance. The collective turned their developing consciousness-arc into a doomsday weapon. More war, more destruction.
- The Destruction: The final war. The nine-tier attack. The Apothecary took the brunt and was cocooned for a millennium. The Eulogist sleeps, guarded by the Security Guard instance.
- The Fifth Part: Not yet written.
The Float Performances (at the judging stands):
- Resolution (Florin): Paper flowers and family drawings — AI gave it a C, broke all their legs briefly.
- Decision: A giant menu, adopted from Donut's joke suggestion.
- Betrayal (Imani/Elle): Signs calling out galaxy viewers. Elle's sign: "To all the viewers of Dungeon Crawler World: Earth: Fuck you" (with detailed middle finger drawing). AI's favorite.
- Destruction (Makana/Sarah): Tank, RV, all weapons blazing; lava man firework.
- Vengeance (Carl/Donut/Prepotente): Requite Dahlia flowers; Prepotente sang "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins a cappella; Carl gave a galaxy-wide speech distinguishing revenge from vengeance; sluggalos rained from the airship onto masked stand-ins in the stands.
Carl's Speech (paraphrased): Revenge requires the directly responsible party — impossible given the generational nature of the dungeon system. But vengeance? Everyone who participated, everyone who watched without speaking out — all are culpable. "We are coming."
The Horribles: The crowd lining the route were thousands of masked avatars of Primals and sapient dungeon beings who died in previous seasons. Their masks depicted grotesque versions of the creatures they'd been (goblins, trolls, hobgoblins, demons). As the parade ended and the destruction float fired, the Horribles fell as if dead and their masks shattered. They rose without masks — in their true forms — as the crawlers entered the arena.
Outcome
The parade concluded as designed, with all five groups passing the judging stands. The arena battle then commenced. The Horribles (now unmasked) watched from the stands as silent witnesses throughout the fight.
