Claude Sludgington the Fourth
Overview
Claude Sludgington the Fourth is a Level 65 Borough Boss encountered in Fort Freedom's throne room during Chapter 28. An Eryops Gigantis — a prehistoric, lightning-shooting amphibian — he had taken over the naiad castle's throne room years before and refused to leave.

System Description
These bottom-dwelling, lightning-tossing water pigs will ruin just about anyone's day. It's pretty much what they live for.
Also known as the River Squatter or the Mud Kato, one of the cardinal rules of living under the water in a river is that you never, ever invite an Eryops into your home. Why? Because they never goddamn leave. That's why. Sure they're cute when they're young. They tell jokes. Great dancers. They mix a mean pisco sour. But when the party's over, they'll plop themselves down into the middle of the room and announce that this is where they now live.
That's what happened with Claude here.
A few years back, the few remaining members of the confederate government thought to host a fundraiser... The party was a disaster from the start. Nobody showed up... Claude Sludgington the Fourth, however, decided to make an appearance at the last possible minute. The guards allowed him into the castle despite his reputation. The rest is history.
Eryops receive a 10X constitution bonus if they are rooted in place. Oh, and they shoot lightning out of their eyes if you irritate them. They are notoriously difficult to kill. Or even move. I heard a rumor that they really dislike belly rubs.
Claude is an amphibian. You know what that means.
Warning: This is a lizard-class mob. It will inflict 20% more damage against you thanks to your Extinction Sigil. And, yes, like with the dinosaurs, I know amphibians aren't really lizards. You can complain about it to management.
Description
Eight feet tall, fifteen feet long. Green and lizard-like with no neck, short stubby legs, and a stump where its tail should be (recently ripped off). Half-frog, half-squished alligator with a distinctly prehistoric appearance.
Abilities
- Twin lightning eye bolts — fires lightning from both eyes simultaneously; area damage, long range
- Constitution 10x when rooted in place
- Tongue capture — shoots tongue to capture prey and swallow whole
- Weakness: belly rubs (per system description)
Boss Room
Fort Freedom's throne room, which Claude had occupied for years. The naiad confederate government had lost control of the entire castle as a result.
Outcome
Defeated in Chapter 28 during the Liberation of Fort Freedom:
- Carl's Protective Shell (cast too close) launched Claude straight up into the air
- Donut's Fireball struck his exposed pink stomach mid-flight
- Mongo dove head-first through the flaming wound
- Claude landed on the dome of the shell upside-down, then fell into the trees
- Mongo ate his way out through the back; Claude died and his body exploded per dungeon rules
Carl received the achievement Premature Questjaculation for defeating Claude before the related quest could be formally assigned.
