Gate of Feral Gods

A three-part artifact consisting of two pocket watches and a winding box. When assembled and activated, it opens a portal to a designated set of coordinates. First assembled by Carl on Floor 4 and used to strike the ninth floor Faction Wars battlefield. In Book 7, received by Carl again at the start of Floor 9 and ultimately repurposed by Justice Light to create a permanent portal to the Nothing.

Components
| Component | Source |
|---|---|
| Watch One (Mysterious Watch) | Looted from Commandant Kane's corpse, Chapter 16 |
| Winding Box | Acquired from Ghazi the Mad Dune Mage, Chapter 22 |

Special Properties
- Opens a portal to designated coordinates when all three pieces are assembled and the winding box is activated
- Winding box must be wound to count down; placed at target location and cannot be moved more than five feet once set without canceling the gate
- Gate stays open for twenty minutes unless all three pieces pass through the portal
- Known portal scenarios vary depending on which pieces are brought through (detailed in a letter looted from Ghazi)
Book 4 Use
Carl used the Gate at the end of Floor 4 to open a portal to the ninth floor's Faction Wars battlefield. Juice Box carried the winding box through in exchange for Carl's promise to bring the changelings along each floor. The artifact appeared to be consumed in the process.
Book 7 — Return and Final Use
Carl received the Gate again via dungeon mail at the start of Floor 9 (Chapters 1–2). Justice Light recognized its importance immediately — his endgame plan had been designed around it from the moment he saw Carl discover it.
In Chapter 61, the winding box was accidentally activated when knocked over during volcanic chaos. War Mage leader Akuma stole it; the War Mages later traded it to a merchant named Paca at the Midnight Market (Paca, an agent of the imprisoned demon lord Krakaren Prime, kept it inside her stomach). The goddess Eris told Carl where it was; Carl identified its location in Chapter 78. Justice Light and the sluggalos retrieved it; in Chapter 81, he confirmed: "We have retrieved the Gate of the Feral Gods, and we are back in our location. Juice Box, it is ready."
Fate
In Chapter 87, Justice Light repurposed the winding box to create a permanent portal to the Nothing — the trans-dimensional void used as a cosmic prison for banished gods and demons. The conversion destroyed the artifact; the winding box was described as "now-broken, blood-soaked." This permanent portal was the delivery mechanism for the Bijou Trap and Demon Trap that broke the Nothing.
